1. Who We Are
This website and the Agora Apps platform are operated by AGORA APPS (PTY) LTD, trading as Agora Apps, registration number 2026/677224/07. The company was registered in South Africa on 26 August 2026. Its registered office is 1 Crown Road, Vierlanden, Durbanville, Western Cape, 7550, South Africa, and its director is Reuben Mein (“Agora Apps”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
For applicable processing activities, Agora Apps acts as the “responsible party” under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and, where European Union or United Kingdom data-protection rules apply, as the relevant controller. Privacy enquiries and requests under POPIA may be sent to info@agora-apps.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account and identity data: name, email address, login details, customer ID, business details and account preferences.
- Project and service data: Smart Submit prompts, requirements, quotations, feedback, uploaded files, generated files, source code, deployment details and support communications.
- Transaction data: orders, invoices, deposits, final balances, Micro-Wallet entries, payment status and gateway transaction references. Payment-card details are processed by the selected payment gateway and are not intended to be stored by Agora Apps.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser, device, timestamps, security logs, cookies, page interactions and diagnostic information.
- Communications: emails, support requests, project messages, approvals and records needed to manage your service.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive or special personal information in a project prompt or uploaded file. If a project genuinely requires such data, contact us before submission so appropriate safeguards can be agreed.
3. How and Why We Use Information
We process personal information only where there is an appropriate purpose and lawful basis, including to:
- create and secure customer accounts;
- analyse Smart Submit requests, prepare quotations and provide requested services;
- operate the Client Vault, Micro-Wallet, project pipeline, invoices and delivery workflows;
- generate, test, review, deploy and support commissioned digital products;
- process and reconcile payments, prevent fraud and maintain accounting records;
- send essential service notices about quotes, payments, reviews, delivery, security and support;
- improve reliability, troubleshoot errors and protect the platform and its users;
- meet legal, tax, regulatory and dispute-resolution obligations; and
- send optional marketing only where permitted and provide an opt-out where required.
4. AI-Assisted Processing
Agora Apps uses artificial-intelligence tools to help structure requests, estimate work, generate or review code and assets, and identify technical issues. Submitted content may be transmitted to contracted AI or infrastructure providers when necessary to provide the requested function.
AI output is not guaranteed to be error-free and may be reviewed or corrected by our team. We do not intend to use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without an appropriate human review pathway. Do not submit confidential third-party information unless you are authorised to do so.
5. When We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that support payment processing, hosting, cloud storage, authentication, email, security, analytics, AI-assisted production, development and professional advice. Current or planned providers may include payment gateways such as Paystack or Stripe and technology providers selected for a particular project.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or security, in connection with a business reorganisation, or with your instruction or consent. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices or under contractual obligations to us, depending on their role.
6. International Processing
Because Agora Apps serves international clients and uses global technology providers, information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where cross-border safeguards are legally required, we will use reasonable contractual, organisational or other recognised measures appropriate to the transfer and the service involved.
7. Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain project and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal, tax or accounting duties. Retention periods differ according to the record and applicable obligation. Information may be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, authentication, restricted administration and security monitoring. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers remain responsible for protecting their passwords, API keys and downloaded project assets and must notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The platform may use essential cookies for authentication, cart, language, currency, security and session continuity. Optional analytics or marketing technologies should be used only in accordance with the choices and notices presented to you. Browser settings can block some cookies, but essential platform features may then not function correctly.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law and lawful limitations, you may request confirmation of whether we hold your personal information, access to it, correction or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary information, restriction or objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent where consent is relied on, or a portable copy where that right applies.
Send a request to info@agora-apps.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain if a request cannot be fulfilled in whole or in part.
10. Children
Agora Apps is a business and digital-production platform and is not directed to children. A person who has not reached the legal age to enter the relevant transaction must use the platform only with the involvement and authorisation of a parent, guardian or other legally competent representative. Please contact us if you believe a child supplied personal information without proper authority.
11. Complaints and Contact
Please send privacy, access, correction, deletion or complaint enquiries to info@agora-apps.com so we can investigate and respond.
You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator. Current contact details and the complaints process are available at inforegulator.org.za/complaints. General enquiries may be sent to enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.
